Mooya Lumamba, a graduate Mining Engineer and the Director of Mines in the Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development has 28 years of experience in the mining sector.
He has worked in the mining industry where he rose through the ranks from a graduate engineer to Assistant Underground Manager.
He then joined the Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development where he again rose from an Inspector of Mines to Director of Mines Safety before he finally assumed his current position of Director of Mines.
He has served as Director on almost all the Boards of major mining companies in Zambia that include Mopani Copper Mines, Konkola Copper Mines, Chibuluma Mines Plc, Chambishi Metals Plc, Chambishi NFCA and has also served as Director on other Boards that include the Zambia Environmental Management Agency, Workers Compensation Fund Control Board, Engineering Registration Board and is currently the Chairperson of the Occupational Health Safety institute.
His current focus is to facilitate a conducive investment environment in the country while at the same time maximizing revenue to Government in a sustainable manner.
